all i know is it resets again if you check too early and they haven't spawned, so you would have to wait at least another month before checking again....if that makes sense

Because if you keep trying to open them before 1 month or whatever is up, the timer resets.

yep, the timer resets everytime you check them, regardless of if they drop. I have tested it on two characters. The wait time is an average of 30 days. I would, based on my testing, wait 40 days to attempt to reopen.

Second time through (non tester characters) with two chars, I got crappier drops and much less gold than the first time, but still good stuff in Desolation and Domains. Third time through I got much less gold from either and more purples, only three golds across all three chars. Each one waited roughly 32-34 days to open. I never really waited longer so I guess I will just have to run them now (its been three months).

Well if you activate it and it hasn't been like 1 month, you'll have to wait another, so make sure its a month.
